Community Update — Dry-Brush & Glass Palette
Over the past few days, we’ve received a lot of useful feedback about the dry-brush palette and glass palette, especially regarding how they fit and move inside the lid during use.
We’d like to explain what we’ve learned, what can potentially be improved for the current version, and what we’re considering for future production.
When we originally designed these two palettes, our main focus was portability and storage.
Our original assumption was that users would store the glass palette and dry-brush palette inside the lid while transporting the Painting Station, then take them out and use them directly on the table or hold them while painting.
What we did not anticipate was that many users would naturally prefer to leave the palette inside the lid and use the lid itself as the working tray.
This was something we simply did not consider deeply enough during the original design process.
Because of that, some users have found that the glass and dry-brush palettes can move or slide around when used directly inside the lid.
We also want to clarify that the palettes were not made smaller to save material.
Every module has a raised perimeter around the bottom. When the modules are stacked together, they need to fully seat together before the latches can close correctly.
Because of this structure, the glass and dry-brush palettes need to stay within that raised perimeter. If they extended beyond it, they could interfere with the modules stacking and closing properly.
However, after seeing how people are actually using the product, we now understand that storage is only part of the experience.
If many users naturally want to use the palette directly inside the lid, then keeping it stable inside the lid is also an important part of the design.
Some members of the community have already started experimenting with simple solutions, including small magnets and metal plates to help keep the palettes securely in place while still allowing them to be removed.
We think this is a very interesting direction.
For the current version, we are now looking into whether there is a simple removable solution — such as magnets, magnetic plates, anti-slip material, or another type of insert — that could improve stability without affecting stacking or storage.
We don’t want to promise a specific solution before we’ve properly tested it, but we are actively evaluating different options.
For future production, we are also reviewing the design itself. Possible improvements may include:
• Better positioning and retention inside the lid
• A more secure but removable mounting solution
• Anti-slip or magnetic features
• Adjustments to the lid or palette geometry while maintaining compatibility with the existing modular system
Most importantly, we want to make sure that any improvement does not create a new problem elsewhere — especially with stacking, latch closure, portability, or compatibility with existing V1 / V1 2.0 modules.
This is exactly why real-world feedback from the community is so important to us.
Sometimes a product works exactly as it was originally designed, but users discover a more natural way to use it than the designer originally imagined.
That is what happened here.
Please never feel that you need to soften your feedback for us. We value both praise and criticism, and thoughtful, honest feedback often helps us identify the details that deserve more attention and improvement.
We’d also like to invite everyone to join our Facebook community and take part in the polls and discussions we’re starting around these improvements.

We’re currently asking the community how many users would like to see a magnetic retention system added for the glass and dry-brush palettes, as well as what other areas of the product you think deserve improvement.
We don’t want these decisions to be based only on our assumptions as designers. We’d like to understand how you actually use the product and which improvements would make the biggest difference in real-world use.
So if you have an opinion, an idea, or even a completely different solution, please join the discussion and vote.
Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback, tested ideas, posted photos, and helped us look at the product from a different perspective. We’re reading all of it, and your feedback is already influencing what we explore next.
